Waterville is a paradise for the golfer, angler,
hill walker, archaeologist, historian, artist
and photographer.
Golfing
Waterville has long been a Mecca for the discerning
golfers and now the new Skellig Bay Golf Club
which opened in Spring 2006 will ensure that Waterville
is a "must play" destination for Golf
enthusiasts the world over.
"Skellig Bay is full of beautiful
Golf holes built in the traditional design that
advocates visibility fairness and enjoyment and
is certain to complement its nearby links neighbour
with a contrasting challenge" Dermot
Gilleece Golf correspondent.
Angling
With the South Coast of Kerry offering such varieties
as Cod, Shark, Skate and Ray, these waters are
a dream to any fisherman. The area provides unique
opportunities for shore fishing and sheltered
waters for small boats. Waterville's Lough Currane
has a world reputation for its sea trout and salmon
angling. Ghillies and boats available for hire.

and on sandy beaches or go trekking up the mountains,
in the countryside or woodlands. Well equiped

and other scenic areas of interest.
Cycling
Cycling is perhaps the best way to explore the
region at a leisurely pace, where the cyclist
can stop and view the amazing scenery that the
Kerry countryside has to offer. Bicycles can be
hired locally along with information on several
routes.

area incorporating tuition and equipment rental
together with scuba-diving, canoeing, water skiing,
windsurfing and sailing. The area is surrounded
by safe and beautiful swimming havens where people

the adventurous world of watersports.
Walking
If you enjoy walking or mountain climbing, a
`must do` when visiting Kerry is an exploration
of the Kerry Way, Ireland's most spectacular long-distanced
walk. The hills and mountains offer panoramic
views for any visitor. The Walking Festivals in
the area also offer the choice of challenging
or leisurely walks along old roads and mountain
paths. Maps, guides and information available
